What could be more simple! You make the brownies as directed on the box, then add crushed oreos to the batter, bake, frost with cream cheese frosting, and top with more crushed oreos. It has been a few years since I first tried this recipe and it has become a hit not only at family reunions and with friends, but also has become Ben’s most requested baked dessert.
OREO BROWNIES
Ingredients
-1 box BROWNIE MIX
-EGG, OIL, and WATER needed for mix
-2 cups crushed OREOS
-CREAM CHEESE FROSTING (you can find a wonderful cream cheese frosting recipe here)
Directions
Mix brownie batter according to instructions on box. Crush oreos. Mix 1 cup of crushed oreos in the batter. Pour in a greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake according to instructions on box. Cool completely. Spread with cream cheese frosting, then sprinkle with the remaining crushed oreos.
If oreos aren’t your thing, or you just want to try something different add 1 cup of these other ingredients to a basic brownie mix to make them WONDERFUL!
