All I can say is YUM! My sisters and I all love these brownies. Our mom has made these for years for lots of different occasions!
There are three different layers to these brownies:
You start with the Brownie…
You’ll need:
1/2 Cup Butter (Softened)
1 Cup Sugar
4 Eggs
1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1- 16 oz. can Hershey’s Syrup
1 Cup and 1 Tablespoon Flour
Cream butter and 1/2 of sugar in large mixing bowl. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Pour into greased and floured 9×13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes.
After brownies have cooled you do the second layer.
For the mint layer you’ll need:
2 Cup Powdered Sugar
1 Tablespoon Milk
1/2 Cup Butter (Softened)
3 drops Green Food Coloring
1 teaspoon Peppermint Extract
Cream together and spread on cooled brownies. Put in the refrigerator until hard.
Now for the Chocolate top layer you’ll need:
1 Cup Chocolate Chips
1/2 Cup Butter
Melt together (I just use the microwave) and spread on Mint layer.
Chill and cut bars. (Cut before top layer becomes too stiff.) Brownies are best refrigerated.
