We love to eat oatmeal for breakfast around our house and while I have tried many different mix-ins for our oatmeal, this is our favorite recipe. It is easy to make and is requested at least a couple of times per week. You can use as much cinnamon, vanilla and peanut butter as you want. I just sprinkle, pour and scoop some in. You want to make sure that the oatmeal has plenty of room in the bowl so it doesn’t spill over when it is in the microwave.
I have found that adding the banana into the oatmeal makes for a great consistency. I have used this same recipe but added things like blueberries or raisins to it instead of the peanut butter.
What are some of your favorite things to mix-in your oatmeal???
Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal
1/3 cup old fashioned oats
2/3 cup water
cinnamon
vanilla
1 banana
peanut butter
Combine oatmeal, water, cinnamon, vanilla together in a microwaveable bowl. Mash 1/2 of the banana into the mixture. Microwave for 2 minutes. Stir. Microwave for 30 more seconds. Slice remaining banana and place on top of oatmeal along with desired amount of peanut butter.
Enjoy!

I will have to make this for my husband and 2 year old. They are obsessed with peanut butter and this sounds like such an easy breakfast to have on hand. Thanks for the great idea!
