I came across this activity several months ago but since we were heading into summer, I knew I wouldn’t use it for awhile. It turned out to be pouring down rain the day we made this, so it was the perfect activity for a rainy day. Having a 2 1/2 year, I am always looking for fun and easy activities for him to try. This project couldn’t have been easier and he loved it. Plus, at the end of the art experience, he ate the yogurt.
Simply take, white yogurt (I used vanilla but you could use any flavor) and color with a couple of drops of food coloring. I let Jackson pick which colors he wanted to make and then I let him go to town on painting a couple of pictures. He loved it and it wasn’t as messy as I thought it was going to be. I used about 3 oz. of yogurt per color and that seemed to be plenty.
We will definitely be doing this again during the fall or winter when we are looking for something fun and creative to occupy our time.
