Peanut Buster Caramel Bars

December 5, 2011 By Crumbs and Chaos

Spread the love
I became inspired after flipping through an employee cookbook that a friend gave to me.
Peanuts and caramel?  Chocolate and peanut butter?  Sounds like a winner.  So after some tweaking, this is what I came up with.
Peanut Buster Caramel Bars | Crumbs and Chaos
These are fabulous because they are no bake.  They didn’t even have to take up any space in the fridge because after I put the lid on them I set them in the garage where it was cool enough to set the chocolate.  Pure bliss is well on it’s way.  This will make the peanut butter and chocolate lovers in your life extra happy!

Day 2: Salted Chocolate Tartlets

Printable Recipe Here
1 (11 oz.) bag CARAMEL BITS
2 Tablespoons WATER
1 cup CREAMY PEANUT BUTTER, divided
1 1/2 cups PEANUTS
4 cups CHEERIOS
2 cups MILK CHOCOLATE CHIPS
Line a 9 x 13 baking pan with foil leaving handles to remove the bars from the pan, spray lightly with cooking spray.
In a microwavable bowl, place caramel bits, water and 1/2 cup peanut butter.  Microwave in 1 minute intervals, stirring between times, until smooth.  Stir in peanuts and cereal.  Spread mixture into prepared pan.
In a different bowl, microwave chocolate chips and 1/2 cup peanut butter for 1 minute, stir.  Microwave 30 seconds more.  Spread over cereal layer.  Chill until chocolate is firm.  Remove from pan using foil handles.  Cut into squares.
*Caramel bits can be found in the baking section near the chocolate chips.

These look REALLY good. I love anything with caramel, chocolate and peanut butter! I however have to eat gluten free- do you think it would still work if i swapped the cheerio’s for chex mix? Let me know if you get the chance, thanks! Happy Holidays.
