Most certainly brownies are incredible on their own. Topped with rice krispies, chocolate and toffee?! Absolutely dynamite!!
Brownies are well loved by most people I know – I don’t care if you have a favorite boxed mix that you like to use or a made from scratch version that’s totally amazing. My favorite thing about this recipe – all it takes is one bowl, one whisk/spoon and a few minutes. They can be mixed up in the time it takes you to preheat the oven. I love the texture of the crunchy top layer, it pairs well with the fudgy brownie layer below. So, next week surprise the brownie lover in your life with a little something different!
Ingredients
- 1 cup BUTTER
- 6 (1 oz.) squares of UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE
- 2 cups GRANULATED SUGAR
- 4 EGGS
- 2 teaspoons VANILLA EXTRACT
- 1 1/2 cups FLOUR
- 1/2 teaspoon SALT
- 1 1/2 cup RICE KRISPIE CEREAL
- 1 pkg. MILK CHOCOLATE TOFFEE BITS
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 9x13 baking pan with foil and spray with cooking spray.
- In a medium sized microwavable bowl, place butter and chocolate squares. Heat in microwave for 1 minute, stir. Heat 30 seconds at a time until chocolate is melted.
- Whisk in sugar, add in eggs and vanilla. Stir until well combined. Add in flour and salt, stir until just combined.
- Spread into pan and sprinkle with cereal and then toffee bits. Press slightly into batter.
- Bake 25-28 minutes. Cool completely before cutting.
