As we head towards the warmer months, I’m looking forward to warm evenings hanging around with friends on the deck while the burgers are on the grill and we watch the sunset. Being able to take dinner outside is one of my favorite things about this change in seasons, it takes the ordinary and makes things feel a little livelier. Having a cheesy appetizer on hand makes things all the more delicious.
Bacon Cheeseburger Queso Dip is the best of all the worlds, your favorite burger toppings in one gooey dip. After browning the ground beef, you won’t drain off any grease, but instead use that to bind with the flour to become the thickening agent for this dip. After stirring in the milk and waiting for things to thicken up a bit, you’ll add Philadelphia cream cheese and some Kraft sharp cheddar cheese. Please make sure to grate the cheddar from the block, using pre-shredded cheese can sometimes cause a graininess and that’s one thing you don’t want your dip to be. Keep warm in a mini slow cooker and serve with your favorite tortilla chips while you listen to the sounds of the children playing and get that grill sizzling.
