If you love a sweet, tart, fizzy beverage, a Cranberry Lime Spritzer is so simple to make for any occasion!
If you were to ask me what my favorite kitchen gadget was 4 months ago, my answer would have been my SodaStream machine that I purchased on clearance earlier this year. I have professed my undying love for that machine to countless friends…fizzy water is my jam and I was so excited to make it at home in my very own kitchen. We would make a bottle of sparkling water, squeeze the juice of half a lime in it and head to the beach this past summer. Our weekly pizza night pairings turned from pizza and pop to pizza and homemade blackberry sodas. The folks at SodaStream recently sent me a new SodaStream Power Automatic Sparkling Water Maker and I was giddy with excitement.
When we host company, I love to set up a ‘flavor your own sparkling water’ bar. Right next to the SodaStream machine is a convenient place to set glasses, flavor syrups, lemon/lime wedges and straws. I find it’s handy to have a couple of small 2 Tablespoon glass measuring cups (about the size of a shot glass, you can find them in the kitchen section of any big box store) on hand for guests to measure in their own syrups because it really is a personal preference kind of thing. I plan on freezing cranberries this year to be able to make cranberry simple syrup to have on hand for drinks all year long.
*TO MAKE CRANBERRY SIMPLE SYRUP*
Stir together 12 oz. of FRESH CRANBERRIES in a medium saucepan with 1 1/2 cups of WATER and 1 1/2 cups of SUGAR. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Strain solids and store in a covered container or jar in the fridge after cooling.
The Sodastream Power machine delivers your desired amount of carbonation with the push of a button. It couldn’t be easier. I keep my SodaStream bottles full of water in the fridge, so that I can make sparkling water at a moment’s notice. And those moments seem to happen pretty often. I love it because it’s a healthier beverage option for our entire family, we can choose how much syrup to add, if any, and there’s a lot less waste or cans and bottles to return.
SodaStream makes a variety of flavored water mixes that you can add after sparkling the water. Their line of drink mixes includes: Waters – made with all natural sweeteners and colors; Fruits – flavors like Orange Mango and Kiwi Pear are derived from fruit; Zeros – zero calorie flavors, sweetened with stevia; Sparkling Gourmet – chef-inspired flavor combinations {blackcurrant lime is delish!} There’s something for everyone! When using the SodaStream drink mixes, I will say, make sure you tip the bottle to the side slightly and pour down the inside like the directions say…otherwise you will have a sweet, fizzy eruption everywhere #askmehowiknow
