Whew… I am out of breath just saying the name! It does have a long name, but don’t count it out because of that. It is fairly simple to make and wonderfully tasting, especially when served warm. I have had plenty of desserts that mix chocolate and peanut butter but I haven’t had many that throw marshmallow in the mix. But the marshmallow creme was MY favorite part!
A main ingredient is a Devil’s Food Cake Mix so it fills a 9 x 13 inch pan and makes a good sized dessert. As I said before, I think it is best served warm and eaten the day it is baked.
Chocolate PB Marshmallow Bars
Ingredients
- 1 package DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE MIX
- 1/2 cup BUTTER, melted
- 2/3 cup MILK, divided
- 3/4 cup CREAMY PEANUT BUTTER
- 1 jar (7 oz.) MARSHMALLOW CREAM
- 1/2 cup SALTED PEANUTS
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet CHOCOLATE CHIPS
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix dry cake mix, butter and 1/3 cup milk until well blended; press 2/3 onto bottom of 13x9-inch pan. Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until center is almost set; cool 3 minutes. Combine peanut butter and remaining milk; spread onto crust. Top with small spoonfuls of the marshmallow creme and remaining cake mixture. Sprinkle with nuts and chocolate; press gently into cake mixture (this step is important to ensure that after baking the layers don't fall apart). Bake 18 minutes or just until center is set. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
