In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Blend in the butter using a mixer.
Add orange zest, juice and egg. Mix well. Fold in cranberries and spread batter in pan.
Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool completely.
Stir together 1 Tablespoon orange juice and powdered sugar. (Add more juice if you want a thinner icing.) Spread on top of cooled bread, garnish with additional orange zest if desired.
